Bridging Realms with PRISM: Redefining ITC and the Exploration of Consciousness
Exploring the Depths: How PRISM Redefines ITC Research and Expands the Boundaries of Consciousness
Instrumental TransCommunication (ITC) bridges the realms of technology and consciousness, creating a profound connection between the physical and metaphysical. At Obscura Vox, we aim to challenge conventional ITC methods, blending new and old technologies to delve deeper into this mysterious intersection.
What if one device could pierce the fabric of existence, enabling us to hear voices—not just from the past, but from dimensions beyond our time and understanding?
From the start of my ITC journey, I’ve been captivated by the questions many hesitate to ask—questions about life, death, and the enigmatic spaces in between. When I first tested PRISM, I had no idea what to expect. Each session since has felt like a step into the unknown, a humbling reminder that technology is merely one component of the equation. This is not a passive pursuit; it’s an active exploration of our ability to truly listen and connect.
PRISM Technology: Redefining the Future of ITC
Created by audio scientist Joshua Sean, Ph.D., and field-tested by me, Matthew Jackson, PRISM is a self-contained, patent-pending system designed for direct voice communication. Unlike traditional ITC tools that rely on radio signals, internet noise, or word banks, PRISM operates as a closed-circuit system, ensuring a pure and uncontaminated environment for communication.
PRISM filters problematic frequencies and generates precise resonances, creating a dynamic space where voices emerge with clarity and intention. These responses often hint at interactions that transcend the physical world, suggesting connections with entities or dimensions beyond our current understanding of time and space. More than just a device, PRISM embodies a methodical approach to bridging the divide between the known and the unknown.
While traditional ITC tools hold the potential to reveal glimpses of other realities, they often invite scrutiny and skepticism—what I like to call the ITC Naysayer Choir—due to external interference or design limitations. PRISM’s unique construction eliminates these concerns, ensuring that audio contamination, external signals, or preprogrammed software cannot create false impressions of authenticity.
This innovative design allows me to focus entirely on the quality and relevance of the communication, free from distractions like false positives. PRISM not only enhances the legitimacy of ITC exchanges but also strengthens the case for a profound interplay, arcing consciousness to electronic messaging and sharpening our focus on this extraordinary relationship.
Listening to PRISM: The Art of Hearing Beyond the Veil
PRISM’s power lies in its results and how we listen—how we choose to engage with the frequencies it reveals. PRISM offers two distinct methods for live listening: through speakers or direct input via headphones. Each method reveals unique facets of the audio output, influencing how responses are interpreted and experienced.
PRISM offers immersive sound through speakers, where audio dynamically interacts with the environment. This method enhances dialogue by leveraging environmental factors, such as electromagnetic fields, for potential EVP phenomena. However, room acoustics and external interference may occasionally impact clarity.
In contrast, listening through direct input via headphones provides a controlled, noise-free environment for analysis, bypassing external distractions to ensure maximum precision. While this method is ideal for detailed review, it lacks the spatial dynamics offered by speaker output, which some researchers find engaging.
By strategically using both methods, PRISM sessions can be tailored to specific goals, whether prioritizing precision or embracing environmental resonance.
Acknowledging the Unknown
PRISM creates a carefully crafted soundscape where contextual responses emerge with remarkable clarity, often aligning directly with the investigator’s intentions. These responses convey a sense of intelligence, as if shaped by purposeful design, inviting deeper exploration. Though the vocal responses aren’t repeatable in a traditional laboratory sense, they often feel deeply connected to the moment, revealing a subtle interaction between investigator, communicator, and the beyond.
This fusion of intention and interaction distinguishes PRISM from other ITC tools. It’s not just about producing and capturing sound; it’s about shaping an environment where meaning can take hold, broadening our understanding of consciousness and our role within it.
As with the Great Pyramids of Egypt—a marvel of human ingenuity cloaked in mystery—we may never fully understand how or why ITC communication occurs. Yet its existence is undeniable. We can observe, record, and validate intelligent, relevant responses. Even when the voices we hear don’t reveal their true nature, they affirm one essential truth: communication is happening.
While PRISM’s precision represents a significant step forward in ITC communication, the phenomenon itself defies being confined to our expectations. Occasionally, a force emerges that delivers misleading information or unsettling messages. This disruptive influence, often described as the Trickster archetype, complicates our understanding of ITC.
The Trickster is not the foundation of ITC communication, but its presence warrants acknowledgment. George P. Hansen, in The Trickster and the Paranormal, explores this archetype as a force of ambiguity and contradiction that obscures meaning. Similarly, Jacques Vallée, a pioneering researcher in UFO and paranormal phenomena, suggests that some phenomena may intentionally conceal their true nature. Hansen builds on Vallée’s ideas, encouraging researchers to approach fragmented and ambiguous messages with discernment and care.
By staying mindful of the Trickster element, we can balance curiosity with analytical thinking. PRISM’s structured design is an invaluable resource in navigating this complexity, enabling researchers to filter out distortions while embracing the meaningful truths that may emerge. This intricate relationship between intention, intelligence, and the Trickster reminds us that ITC is as much about discovery as it is about comprehension.

Revisiting Chapter Two: A Historic ITC Location
The PRISM session I conducted at Viewpoint Books: Chapter Two, located at 425 Washington Street in Columbus, Indiana, provided an evocative backdrop for ITC experimentation. The location’s rich history—including its ties to the Wolf family and a lineage of female entrepreneurs—amplified PRISM’s effectiveness during one of the most striking sessions I’ve experienced.
Chapter Two blends the charm of a clean, inviting bookstore with the weight of history embedded in its aged floors and intricate trim work. The faint aroma of books fills the air, but the basement tells a deeper, more primordial story. Walking through a tunnel of rock and dirt, the overhead beams seem to whisper echoes of the building’s past. There, the atmosphere cools, thick with earth and time, as if the space itself is holding its breath.
Standing in Chapter Two that day, I felt the palpable presence of history. I couldn’t help but imagine the countless stories etched into these walls. Later, when I heard the response “Wolf” during the session upstairs, it was more than just a name—it felt like a connection that spanned across time. Moments like these remind me why I embarked on this journey: not merely to communicate but to explore how the past, present, and future feel synchronous in profound ways.
In a previous article on PARAHOLICS, I presented the speaker audio captured through a room microphone. This new release, however, showcases PRISM’s direct input audio, offering unprecedented clarity. Combining both recordings, which have been and continue to be peer-reviewed, highlights the session’s complexity and underscores PRISM’s potential to transcend history and delve into interdimensional and philosophical realms.
Revealing the Extraordinary: Chapter Two’s ITC Insights
You can conduct successful ITC sessions anywhere. The ability to capture EVP contact and other forms of communication is not bound by location. However, extraordinary locations often yield extraordinary responses. Certain places act as focal points, where layers of history, emotion, and energy converge to amplify interaction. Chapter Two exemplifies this phenomenon. Its rich history and the legacy of those who inhabited the space seem to act as a catalyst, creating an environment primed for meaningful connection.
During the session, the questions asked and the responses received were nothing short of remarkable. At one point, Gene Caswell inquired, How are you receiving our information? The reply—Object listening—we cannot speak evidence of afterlife—hinted at a mechanism far beyond human comprehension. This phrase carries immense weight, implying that the entities communicating with us are aware of their limitations in conveying proof of their existence in conventional terms.
The session continued to deliver thought-provoking replies, each more compelling than the last. The name Wolf emerged, clearly referencing Elizabeth Wolf, the site’s first female entrepreneur. This wasn’t merely a historical echo but a significant moment of connection—one that anchored time and reminded us of the enduring presence of those who came before us.
As the session unfolded, two particularly haunting statements emerged: Death is a dream and Death is cleansing. These phrases provoke deep philosophical and existential questions. If death is a dream, does it mean that when we die, we enter a dreamlike state? Are we conscious or unconscious in this condition? Could it imply that our current existence is part of a greater illusion—perhaps even someone else’s dream? Does the act of dying awaken us into a new, heightened state of awareness, or does it simply mean we’re asleep for eternity? And if so, can we ever wake up—and what serves as our alarm clock?
The second statement, Death is cleansing, raises further intrigue: What exactly is being purified in death? Is it the soul, the ego, or something more abstract and elusive? These responses, delivered with clarity through PRISM, underscore that ITC is not merely a tool for exploring the unknown—it serves as a gateway to uncovering profound insights into the nature of life, death, and the mysteries of consciousness itself.
Perhaps the most startling moment of the session came when the word Earthling was spoken. This single word shattered any remaining notions of earthly limitation. Deliberate and straightforward, it transcended species and place. It forced us to ask: Who—or what—are we truly communicating with?
The session’s pinnacle moment for me arrived when a communicator posed their own question:
What sort of work is this? This whole “connecting”?
At that moment, the boundaries between seeker and subject seemed to dissolve. Were they studying us as much as we were examining them? Were they intrigued by our persistence, our intentions—or even the technology itself? This interaction suggested that PRISM might not merely facilitate communication; it could be introducing these entities to an entirely new method of connection. Perhaps PRISM employs an approach unfamiliar to these entities—or perhaps it forges links to realms far beyond what traditional spirit communication has ever accessed.
This session illuminated the intricate interaction between the environment, the device, ourselves, and the communicators, highlighting the surreal possibilities of ITC. Chapter Two became more than just a location—it transformed into a conduit for universal awareness, a space where history, emotion, and interdimensional connections intertwined to create something extraordinary. The documented responses affirm PRISM’s ability to access realms that challenge conventional understanding. One voice explicitly stated, I’m not in your dimension. This reply isn’t merely revelatory—it is groundbreaking, confirming that the scope of ITC transcends the earthly and ventures into spheres yet to be fully grasped.
Are we limiting ITC by approaching it with predetermined expectations—seeking only what we believe we will hear and confining our sessions to the narrow lens of hauntings or communication with the dead? If so, how much of the broader reality might we overlook due to our intentions, biases, or focus? Our consciousness inevitably becomes entangled in this auditory exchange, subtly shaping and influencing the experience. And how much of the Trickster element might be at work, weaving disinformation that distorts our perception and disrupts our peace? Or are we simply being handed fragmented yet purposeful puzzle pieces that, with patience and resolve, will one day coalesce into a masterpiece of understanding?
The Act of Listening: An Opportunity to Wonder
Listening isn’t merely about hearing—it’s about opening yourself to curiosity and wonder. PRISM has taught me to embrace questions, sit with the unknown, and find a sense of peace even in responses that may initially feel chaotic. It’s often in those moments of uncertainty that the most profound connections and insights arise.
Over time, I’ve realized that asking—and truly listening—is one of the bravest acts we can undertake. It requires more than curiosity and attentive ears; it calls for an open heart and an unwavering willingness to engage with the wonder, ambiguity, and vastness of what lies beyond human understanding. This pursuit is a deeply human endeavor, one that unites us in our shared search for meaning.
With every response, I feel drawn closer to the mysteries of consciousness and the multiverse. ITC isn’t solely about technology—it’s about what we bring to the experience as listeners and seekers.

Navigating the Trickster Archetype in ITC Research
As Instrumental TransCommunication (ITC) practitioners, we operate at the intersection of science, consciousness, and the unknown. The Trickster archetype—a force of ambiguity, misdirection, and paradox—frequently manifests in paranormal phenomena, adding layers of complexity to our work. Engaging effectively with ITC requires practitioners to navigate the interplay between profound insights and potential deception with curiosity, discernment, and humility.
This guide offers practical strategies for navigating ITC research with integrity, creativity, and respect for its enigmatic nature:
1. Balance Open-Mindedness with Discernment
Why: While staying open to extraordinary possibilities, it’s essential to recognize that not all messages are truthful or meaningful.
How: Treat every response as a piece of a larger puzzle, rather than an isolated truth. Cross-reference messages with historical, emotional, or environmental details to identify patterns of reliability and significance.
2. Recognize the Interplay of Intentions
Why: Messages may reflect not only the intent of the communicator but also the investigator’s expectations or energy.
How: Set clear, neutral intentions before each session. Craft precise, non-leading questions. Reflect on how your focus, mindset, or emotional state may influence the interaction.
3. Embrace Multidisciplinary Perspectives
Why: Understanding ITC phenomena requires insight from diverse fields—psychology, mythology, history, and even quantum theory. The Trickster archetype is a recurring motif across cultures and disciplines, offering valuable context for these experiences.
How: Explore works like George P. Hansen’s The Trickster and the Paranormal or Jacques Vallée’s research. Incorporate ideas from science, folklore, and philosophy to enrich your interpretive framework.
4. Treat Communication as an Evolving Dialogue
Why: ITC sessions rarely yield definitive answers but contribute to a growing body of understanding over time.
How: Collaborate within the ITC community by sharing findings, analyzing patterns, and engaging in group discussions. Over time, these shared insights may uncover meaningful connections and deeper truths.
5. Respect the Role of Ambiguity
Why: The uncertainty inherent in ITC is not a flaw but a feature that invites practitioners to remain curious and adaptable.
How: Approach each session with humility, recognizing that ITC is about exploring the boundaries of consciousness, not necessarily finding conclusive proof.
6. Uphold Ethical Integrity
Why: ITC researchers bear the responsibility to avoid exploiting or sensationalizing phenomena, especially given their elusive nature.
How: Present findings transparently, without overstating conclusions. Respect the dignity of the locations, entities, and individuals involved in your work.
7. Embrace Discomfort in Ambiguity
Why: One hallmark of the Trickster is fostering discomfort in uncertainty. Practitioners must learn to navigate this ambiguity without rushing to premature conclusions.
How: Shift your focus from seeking absolute answers to asking better questions. See ITC as a journey of discovery, not a destination for definitive truth.
8. Prepare for Emotional and Psychological Impact
Why: ITC can provoke profound or unsettling responses, leading to intense emotional or existential reactions.
How: Build a support system of peers, mentors, or personal practices like mindfulness or journaling. Take time to process and ground yourself after particularly impactful sessions.
9. Celebrate the Mystery
Why: ITC challenges our understanding of reality and existence, reminding us that the unknown is not something to fear but something to explore.
How: View the Trickster not as an obstacle but as a guide urging you to broaden your perspective. Appreciate the opportunity to interact with forces beyond comprehension.
Suggested Mindset:
Approach ITC with the mindset of a scientist, an artist, and a philosopher:
• Like a scientist, observe and document with rigor.
• Like an artist, engage with creativity and intuition.
• Like a philosopher, question deeply and remain open to evolving insights.
By adopting these principles, ITC practitioners can approach the unknown with integrity, discernment, and a profound sense of curiosity. Let your journey be guided by wonder, and may humility anchor your discoveries.
